Today I took a Literature Quiz in school. It took up just about the whole Literature lesson, but I wasn't too upset. But you know how sometimes it stinks to have a teacher teaching you two or more subjects? Well,my Literature teacher is also my English teacher so half of our English period was taken by Literature. So anyway, in the test, we were supposed to watch three versions of a different scene in Hamlet. Then we were told to analyse and answer several questions related to the scene or act, whatever you call it. Each version was to be played twice.
Somewhere during the test, after I had completed the necessary questions on the first version, I lay my head on the table to rest, as I had nothing better to do. However, I was scolded my the teacher for "sleeping in class". I wasn't sleeping, my head was just on the table! I mean, look at it this way: During an examination, you would probably find the time for the paper too long (other than for Maths, of course) and you would usually put your head on the table to rest. Even my teachers tell me to do that," When you're done, look down." So what's the big difference here? I mean it IS a test and we should have the right to do whatever we want. Sure they want the best for us, but I had already completed the necessary questions for the scene, and I wanted to move on, but i couldn't.
I agree with you too! You should not be scolded just for putting your head on the table! The teacher should try taking the quiz and see how he/she feels about that!
